Overview
Quantum computing software that speaks all hardware languages so you don't have to.
As head of design at Zapata, I led the development of Orquestra Studio, a sophisticated tool that combines creation, orchestration, and visualization of quantum and classical computing workflows for enterprise solutions. The platform enables quantum engineers and scientists to collaboratively manage and deploy quantum-ready applications, featuring a design system that closely follows VS Code's visual language with strategic modifications to ensure seamless integration. We tested early prototypes by embedding Figma views in an Electron app to create realistic experiences for gathering authentic user feedback. A key feature was the directed acyclic graph (DAG) interface I designed, giving enterprise customers granular control over modular workflows through nodes with formatting settings that directly modified underlying code when adjusted. The standalone editor provided multiple views of workflow code with simultaneous running and visualization capabilities. Node components featured responsive zoom-level variants, displaying at-a-glance information when zoomed out while allowing detailed adjustments when focused on specific modules, complemented by specialized components for quantum circuit creation and visualization. Beyond the product, I established a comprehensive brand identity for Zapata and Orquestra, including iconography and distinctive photo treatments. I also spearheaded the visual design for Zapata's partnership with Andretti Autosport, creating graphics for a mobile data center (initially called the PIT Center) and incorporating Zapata's branding into the racing team's suits and visual assets.
