Overview

The haptic glove was an IDEO CoLab prototype for simulating touch in 3D space when interacting with mixed reality content.

Marelai was a mixed reality application and hardware pairing developed during an IDEO CoLab summer sprint over 6 weeks. I led the project team and created visuals to be rendered in mixed reality, and also redesigned the final haptic glove prototype for our blueprint event in 2017. The glove uses a dedicated audio channel to convert audio that the user cannot hear into an analog frequency that powers motors in the glove, triggering haptic feedback. This simulates a third sense when hovering over information in the interface or getting near something that the software deems as important.
