MagicPath

As the founding designer of MagicPath, I set up our brand and design systems from 0 to 1. Under guidance from CEO and CTO Pietro and Jack, I created the launch experience and look and feel for a version of the product that would gain almost 10,000 users in our first 3 weeks (Fast forward to 3 months and we're at 27K daily active users).

The MagicPath experience is by nature a canvas. Double-clicking allows you to create an empty frame for you to generate a fully functioning web app with natural language prompts. Our design agent thinks through prompts and generates the app inside of the frame on the canvas and allows users to create flows (linked designs for different pages/views in the same app) and variations (visually different approaches from a source design) from generated designs. The apps are designed to be fully responsive by default, and are live after being rendered.

Our workflows naturally shifted towards adding features like:

• Design systems to create new generations using code and design rules from existing web apps using theme files and global.css files

• @mentions to pull in existing smaller components into larger designs

• libraries to introduce the concept of reusable objects from existing code

I created the branded launch materials and tons of video and marketing content for our releases, as well as files for our community page to drive adoption. My experience from Adobe led me to bring over an active learning approach

I pioneered a new technique for our learning content where video tutorials were placed inside of copy-able MagicPath file templates, so users could watch the video tutorial live in the file while they were interacting with the content. This resulted in a 40% increase in content engagement that directly led to a 15% increase in signups during our @mentions launch.
