Overview
MIT Media Lab scientists and dream engineers Adam Haar Horowitz and Tomas Vega are making your dreams accessible through targeted dream incubation technologies. They partnered with me to build out an initial brand and website for the lab housing their research: DUST systems.
Targeted dream incubation allows us to communicate across consciousness and bring back memories of our dreams. To capture this, the DUST brand is cornerstoned by a mark calling on the "wormhole" an abstraction of an einsten-rosen bridge, a symbol often depicted with linking realities. The wordmark features a bold, handmade tyeface that stands out on top of intricate visuals and video. Filled with dreamscape visualizations and 3D renderings, the DUST visual system uses a mainly dark palette with deeply contrasting bright hues to create a system that is versatile, but grounds itself in purples and blues. I built the website out in Framer, with custom coded features like a d3 powered network diagram that tracks research members of the DUST dream collective. The site also features scroll animations and parallax features that are maintainable by the DUST team in a no-code environment.
A flythrough of the DUST Website, built in Framer. Includes custom coded D3 components, a content management system, and a web 3D spline scene in the hero.
