Overview
Sequence is a ledger-as-a-service that enables organizations to securely track and transfer balances in a token format.
I developed the brand identity for Chain's first product, Sequence, shortly before the company's $200+ million acquisition by Stellar. The software was designed to enable companies to utilize private blockchains as a service, and my branding work reflected this functionality through a minimal icon integrated within the wordmark that symbolized the movement of records on a ledger. Working closely with CEO Adam Ludwin, the brand evolved rapidly through initial explorations, eventually landing on a simplified concept featuring a single metaphoric ledger element at the end of the wordmark, which created opportunities for elegant animation. Midway through the process, Ludwin presented our explorations to the entire Chain team to gather broader feedback, which helped refine our direction while ensuring team-wide involvement. I also collaborated with Chain's development team to code the launch website, which featured an innovative dynamic code template region allowing developers to easily copy Sequence API commands in their preferred programming language.
