ARTIST Prints Over Easy Crew

ABOUT THE PIECE
Prints Over Easy is a mobile printmaking station that was made by myself in collaboration with 14 other printmakers attending Florida State University. We made our debut at Tallahassee Florida's 621 Gallery Annex @ Railroad Square. Prints Over Easy seeks to spread the word about printmaking, at our first event we exposed over 250 people to screenprinting and other printmaking processes while screenprinting on a cart designed and fabricated by me, finished and piloted by all of us.
DEBUT AT 621 GALLERY ANNEX
Using pre-exposed screens, tubs of water, and lots of ink the Prints Over Easy crew printed on paper, t-shirts, bags, and people through the night.
MORE DEBUT PHOTOS & PLANNING
Many came to participate in the event, and the FSU Printmaking Club will be holding them with the cart on the first friday of every month at the Railroad Square in Tallahassee, FL starting Spring of 2014. Find Prints Over Easy on Facebook!
DESIGNING ON A BUDGET
I designed the cart from a blank slate to be simple, but effective, my plans accomodated for many different types of printmaking to be versatile. In addition, since our collabortive was looking to spread the word about printmaking, I wanted to make the blueprints as open source as possible so that anyone could build our cart and start making. The cart itself is comprised of only two sheets of plywood and some extra hardware for hinging.
Once everything was cut and glued I created simple assembly directions for myself and anyone from the collaborative that wanted to help me fabricate the cart.
The pre-finished cart, after initial assembly was finished.
